Looks like filesytem got corrupted due to some or the other reason
What configuration of Recovery Point tampering the VMFS File structure on datastore ? This requires a deep level analysis,may be a repro is required.
If you do a fdisk -luDisk /dev/disks/naa... what is the O/P ?
Note:My recommendation is better contact vmware support so that they can let you know safest way of data recovery
