doesn't work vmware converter on linux

hi guys

i need help

linux version =  Red Hat Enterprise Linux AS release 3 (Taroon)

i installed  VMware-converter-4.0.0-146302.tar.gz on linux

and then /etc/init.d/vmware-converter start

root@vmware]# /etc/init.d/vmware-converter start
Starting VMware Converter:
   Converter Standalone Server                             [  ok  ]

but  not running process

i have pid 

[root@ vmware]# cat  /var/run/vmware-converter-server.pid
3970

but i dont have open file
[root@ vmware]# lsof -p 3970
[root@ vmware]#
