I am currently working on an internship where they are asking me to box up software on a VM. Well, setting up the VM on workstation
was straightforward enough, though I have come to a fork in the road with regard to using RDP to log onto the VM from outside my
local network. I used this post to set up a connection to the VM with virtual NAT that opens up to the Remote Desktop Login for the XP VM
with the user name, but when I try to enter the password, I keep receiving the error: Your credentials did not work.
I have tried every thing I know to remedy this, disabling all firewalls on host and guest, making sure Remote Connection is allowed on host
and guest, making sure users are permitted remote access etc. I set port forwarding in my router for the proper port to be open etc, obviously because the
connection is being made, but once again, credentials are not accepted
