Re: cheap PCIe nic card for ESXi 6.5
Re: Newly deployed PSC appliance setup is stuck at 40%
And that's what I thought
Re: Unable power on VM - ESXi 5.5.0
Q: "I asked when this VM first stopped booting correctly. Do you have that information?"
A: I do not have the exact time of the first stop, but it was the first restart of yesterday (01/26).
Q: "Also, I was mistaken here. You appear to have two VMDKs from the outset. The first is named VM-Linux-yspp0097-LDAP.vmdk and the second is VM-Linux-yspp0097-LDAP-PROD.vmdk. Note the addition of "PROD" on the end. It appears that the first file may have been renamed to _2 and the second file named to _1. Please show output in the VM's home directory of all files."
A: I believe I know the answer, probably previously it should have the name:
VM-Linux-yspp0097-LDAP
And at some point in the past I must have renamed myself to:
VM-Linux-yspp0097-LDAP-PROD
With this change it only changes the label and not the name of the disk, when I did the vMotion of the machine it automatically changes the name of the disk equal to the name of the label.
Re: cheap PCIe nic card for ESXi 6.5
Don't know, but I probably wouldn't roll the dice if I were you. Get the exact model as stated.
Re: Unable power on VM - ESXi 5.5.0
Not a vMotion but a storage vMotion, yes, then that's probably what happened. Still, let's take a look at the files inside the home directory. After that, cat each .vmdk (not the *-flat.vmdk files though) and show the contents.
Re: Newly deployed PSC appliance setup is stuck at 40%
Not my case. ESX and PSC are pointed to the AD DC which is on the same subnet and working fine...
Re: Can't connect printer (globally enabled, but system says globally disabled)
This is a help full action.

Re: Newly deployed PSC appliance setup is stuck at 40%
What is the exact filename of the ISO file you're using? Can you verify forward and reverse DNS lookups return the correct name and IP?
Re: Does Fusion 6 works with MacOS 10.12.6?
Hi,
There are certain circumstances under which it can happen that a freshly installed Fusion will have an expired license, unfortunately I cannot help you with that myself.
Perhaps vmware support can set you up with a trial license code.
Mikero can you help this user out somehow?

Unable to start vmware-sps on 6.5.0-7515524
Hello everyone!
Im new using VCSA. I installed on an ESXI host VCSA.
My problem is when I'm trying to create a new Virtual Machine I got this error from Client Flash:
PBM error occurred during PreCreateCheckCallback: HTTP error response: Bad Request
I was looking for help on Google that I must have to start vmware-sps service, so i logged on in vmware console and service never start.
With HTML 5 Client at new virtual machine wizard, datastore never ends to load.
Someone can point me to solve this issues?
Thanks!
Regards Juan.
Re: Can't launch vmrc from Firefox - Fedora 27
Hi,
Are you on FireFox Quantum 59 or still on 58?
Can you try to change the vmrc: prefix in the url into web+vmrc: or even ext+vmrc: and see if that helps?
(source: Hey! I made that patch! :-Dso basically the explanation is simple. There is a ... | Hacker News )

Re: Esxi 6.5 Active Directory Integration
And have you tried rebooting the host?
Re: Unable to start vmware-sps on 6.5.0-7515524
On your vCSA in a shell session, what is the output of this command: service-control --status --all
Re: vSAN disk groups failure once a month
After working with Dell and had a few firmware updates for the H730 month after month, we still had the exact same issue. We ended up replacing all H730 controllers with HBA330 controllers. The issue has been resolved since then. The servers have been running for ~3 months now without issue.
Re: Certificate configuration in vcsa 6.5.0 7119157
Update: It appears to be an issue with the script creating the pubkey file. I don't see the pubkey file when it runs through these commands at the end of exporting the CSR file. I do see the vmca_issued_key.key and vmca_issued_csr.csr, but the csr are default values like your issue.
End of the certificate-manager log file:
2018-01-27T15:53:18.812Z INFO certificate-manager Running command: ['/usr/lib/vmware-vmca/bin/certool', '--genkey', '--privkey', '/tmp/vmca_issued_key.key', '--pubkey', '/tmp/pubkey.pub']
2018-01-27T15:53:18.952Z INFO certificate-manager Running command: ['/usr/lib/vmware-vmca/bin/certool', '--gencsr', '--privkey', '/tmp/vmca_issued_key.key', '--pubkey', '/tmp/pubkey.pub', '--config', '/var/tmp/vmware/certool.cfg', '--csrfile', '/tmp/vmca_issued_csr.csr']
2018-01-27T15:53:19.17Z INFO certificate-manager CSR generated at: /tmp/vmca_issued_csr.csr
If I run these commands manually the CSR contains the correct info:
/usr/lib/vmware-vmca/bin/certool --genkey --privkey=/tmp/vmca_issued_key.key --pubkey=/tmp/pubkey.pub
/usr/lib/vmware-vmca/bin/certool --gencsr --privkey=/tmp/vmca_issued_key.key --pubkey=/tmp/pubkey.pub --config=/var/tmp/vmware/certool.cfg --csrfile=/tmp/vmca_issued_csr.csr
Just make sure you update the certool.cfb file first
I guess I will take the manual route for now.
Re: Can't launch vmrc from Firefox - Fedora 27
Still on Firefox 57. I see the repo has 58 available, but I won't be able to upgrade until later today.
I tried going up to the address bar and changing the URL to "web+vmrc" and "ext+vmrc", but Firefox just executes a web search when I attempt to load the modified URL.
